- Maria, a young member of the Makah Indian Tribe, living in the Pacific Northwest, is caught in a struggle on her reservation between tradition and enculturation into the dominant culture. Maria and her brother host two white visitors from the city and find themselves in the midst of a marvelous adventure. Maria experiences call in her dreams and visions. Excellent.
