Sacrifice

Bjork playing the lead in "Dancer in the Dark" sacrifices herself for her son, through her work and by refusing to admit that she shot the policeman because he was stealing her money, since she is scared that if she tells of the money it may not go to save her son's sight. By keeping quiet she is doomed to receive the death penalty. (Timothy Leuers)
